Extended Journey and New Destination
Instead of the scheduled seven-day voyage, the trip will now last nine days, with the arrival date shifting from April 4 to April 7, 2025. Passengers will need to adjust their travel plans accordingly, particularly their return arrangements from New York. The original itinerary included six sea days, but this has been increased to nine before the ship reaches U.S. shores.
No Impact on Future Sailings
Despite the delay, the ship’s subsequent itineraries remain unaffected. The Norwegian Aqua is still expected to arrive in Miami on April 13, 2025, for its official christening by actor Eric Stonestreet. The next scheduled cruise will depart from Miami as planned on April 16.
Final European Stop – Future Deployment
With its departure from Southampton, the Norwegian Aqua has concluded its European segment. In the coming years, the ship will operate exclusively from U.S. ports:
- April–August 2025: Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral
- August–October 2025: Bermuda itineraries from New York
- November 2025 onward: Caribbean sailings from Miami
Original vs. Revised Itinerary
Originally (March 28–April 4, 2025):
Southampton – 6 sea days – Boston
Updated (March 28–April 7, 2025):
Southampton – 9 sea days – New York City
This adjustment highlights how cruise lines adapt to unforeseen weather challenges, prioritizing passenger safety while maintaining operational efficiency.
