AIDAdiva Launches Fleet Modernization: New Design and Innovative Features from March 2025

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the AIDAdiva will temporarily conclude its regular service in the port of Palma de Mallorca. This marks the start of the most extensive modernization initiative in the history of AIDA Cruises. As the first ship in the seven-vessel Sphinx class, the AIDAdiva will undergo a comprehensive overhaul as part of the "AIDA Evolution" program. The cruise ship will not only receive a fresh design but also a host of innovative features designed to elevate the guest experience to new heights.

Over the past two weeks, the AIDAdiva completed its final voyages in the western Mediterranean. Now, under the command of Captain Boris Becker, the ship is heading to the Chantiers Naval shipyard in Marseille. There, it will undergo a seven-week transformation aimed at equipping the flagship of the Sphinx class with state-of-the-art amenities and making it even more appealing to future guests.

New Highlights Onboard
Following its time in dry dock, the AIDAdiva will boast an expanded selection of restaurants, new bar concepts, and modernized cabins. Families with children will benefit from additional offerings, while suite guests can enjoy exclusive areas. The planned upgrades were previously showcased in the video series "Super Becomes Mega," which provided insights into the upcoming changes over the past few months.

Relaunch with Special Highlights
The AIDAdiva is scheduled to re-enter service on March 23, 2025, in Civitavecchia, Italy. The inaugural voyage, themed "Falling in Love with AIDAdiva All Over Again," will take passengers to Italy and Malta. Onboard, renowned musician Clueso will perform a live concert. Additionally, the new show "Ciao Italia" will premiere, and Maria Galleski, the ship's godmother since 2007, will also be in attendance.

Kickoff of a Comprehensive Fleet Modernization
The renovation of the AIDAdiva marks the beginning of the "AIDA Evolution," which will encompass the entire fleet in the coming years. Following the AIDAdiva, the AIDAluna will undergo modernization from October 22 to December 10, 2025. The AIDAbella is set for upgrades from January 21 to March 11, 2026. The ships AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar, and AIDAstella are also expected to receive similar enhancements in the near future.
