The planned work goes far beyond the usual maintenance measures such as renewing carpets and upholstery as well as fresh coats of paint. A total of 20 million euros will be invested in the project to make the ship even more attractive and comfortable for guests.
A significant part of the refurbishment concerns the cabins on the Orion and Apollo decks, which will be equipped with additional balconies. In addition, the Artania Restaurant on the Salon Deck will be extensively redesigned. A new gastronomic highlight awaits guests in the newly refurbished “Pichler's” restaurant. The Lido Restaurant and the fitness studio will be equipped with large panoramic windows to offer guests an even more intense experience at sea. In addition, the ship will be equipped with drinking water dispensers and improved WLAN routers to further increase comfort on board.
In addition to the comfort improvements, the focus is also on technical modernizations. For example, the underwater hull paint system will be renewed, which will reduce fuel consumption by up to 15 percent. In addition, four new tender boats with more environmentally friendly engines have been ordered and the air conditioning systems will be upgraded to the latest energy class A.
The newly modernized MS Artania will embark on a series of Advent cruises from 2 December 2024. The ship will then embark on the longest world cruise in the history of Phoenix Reisen on December 22, 2024, which will last 162 days.
Detailed insights and pictures of the modernization work will be published shortly in Phoenix Reisen's online magazine: Phoenix Reisen Magazin.
