Last Saturday, sea rescuers from the DGzRS station in Laboe visited the cruise ship AIDAnova, which was moored in Kiel for its last stop of the season. Captain Jens Janauschek and his bridge team welcomed the sea rescuers on board, which Staff Captain Marius Carta, Captain Janauschek's direct deputy, documented with a photo on social media.

The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) is known for its operations in maritime emergencies and operates rescue stations along the North Sea and Baltic coasts. Just nine days earlier, the rescuers from Laboe had gone into action when they brought a medical emergency from the AIDAnova safely and swiftly ashore on the rescue cruiser “Berlin”.

It is not yet clear whether the sea rescuers' visit to the AIDAnova had been planned for some time or was the result of the successful cooperation of the last operation. On Saturday evening, the AIDAnova left Kiel for the last time this year to spend its upcoming winter 2024/25 in the port of Hamburg, where it will be stationed for the winter season.
