The entire world cruise will last 148 days and visit a total of 64 ports in 26 different countries. The voyage ends on March 18, 2025 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In addition to the complete world voyage, a shortened 110-day version has also been offered, starting in Singapore on November 30, 2024. Various sections of the voyage are also still available.
After leaving Crete, the Vasco da Gama first heads for Cyprus and Egypt, and then crosses the Suez Canal and the Red Sea. However, there was a change to the itinerary in May 2024 due to the tense situation on the Arabian Peninsula. All passengers will disembark in Safaga, Egypt, on October 29, 2024 and be taken to Oman on a charter flight. An extensive land program awaits them there, and they will be accommodated in a luxurious 5-star hotel in Salalah. In the meantime, the ship will continue along the Yemeni coast to Salalah with only the crew on board. There, the passengers will board the ship again on November 4, 2024 and continue their journey.
The rest of the route leads through various destinations in the Middle East to Asia, where several destinations will be called at. A stop in Australia marks the transition to the South Pacific before continuing along the Pacific coast of South America. The journey leads around Cape Horn and along the Atlantic coast of South America, with exciting stopovers in cities such as Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro, until passengers finally reach Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the voyage ends on March 18, 2025.
Another world cruise with the Vasco da Gama is also planned for the 2025/2026 season. This will begin on November 7, 2025 in Hamburg and will take 175 days to 91 ports in 42 countries before ending back in Hamburg on May 1, 2026. This voyage and various sections are already bookable.
