Mein Schiff 1 had already left Hamburg on September 5, 2024 to cross the Atlantic. On September 19, 2024, it docked in Bayonne for the first time in the 2024/2025 season. From there, the ship initially completed a cruise through Indian Summer in Canada and the USA as well as two further voyages along the US East Coast. But from the 2024/2025 winter season, Mein Schiff 1 will be based in Central America. Today's positioning voyage marks the transition to the traditional winter cruising area. Before the voyage really gets underway, however, there is an overnight stay in Bayonne, giving passengers the opportunity to explore New York City once again before the ship leaves port tomorrow evening at around 11 p.m. local time.
For the 2024/2025 winter season, Mein Schiff 1 will operate continuous two-week cruises in Central America, with La Romana and Montego Bay serving as embarkation and disembarkation ports. In contrast, Mein Schiff 2, the sister ship, will be deployed on classic Caribbean itineraries, also with La Romana as the starting point, supplemented by the port of Bridgetown on Barbados.
