On the evening of Wednesday, the AIDAsol sets course for its first leg. She will not return to Hamburg until February 17, 2025. The first leg of the journey will take the ship to A Coruña in Spain. It will then continue via the Canary Islands and the Cape Verde Islands to South America. This leg finally ends on November 28, 2024 in San Antonio, Chile. The AIDAsol then crosses the Pacific with destinations in Australia, including Sydney, before concluding the second leg with new experiences in New Zealand.
The third leg of the world cruise starts in Australia and crosses the Indian Ocean to Mauritius, where the ship will call at the port of Port Louis. The fourth and final leg of the voyage takes the AIDAsol back to Hamburg via South Africa. During this fascinating trip around the world, AIDA world travel reporter Dave will regularly report on his experiences on the official AIDA channels, giving those at home an insight into this extraordinary journey.
The captain of this world cruise is Moritz Pankau, who was also in command on board on the last world cruise in 2023/24. The AIDAsol only returned from a short trip to Norway on Wednesday morning, during which the crew had to overcome a special challenge: water damage on deck 5 forced some guests to start their journey home in Stavanger as their cabins were no longer habitable. However, all the damage was repaired in time for the departure of the world cruise, so that all passengers were able to board the ship as planned.
