Since Saturday morning, the luxury cruise ship Silver Dawn has been moored in the port of Hamburg for the first time. On her 15-day cruise from Copenhagen to Lisbon, the ship from the Silversea fleet docked at the Cruise Center Altona. During the overnight stay, the 500 or so guests will have until Sunday afternoon to explore the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. On Sunday at 2 p.m., the Silver Dawn will continue its journey towards Amsterdam.

This first call marks the ninth first call of a cruise ship in Hamburg in 2024, with the Ocean Albatros (expedition cruise), the Costa Favolosa, the Seabourn Quest, the newbuilding Queen Anne from Cunard, the Oceania Sirena, the Azamara Onward, the Disney Dream and the Mein Schiff 7 from TUI Cruises having previously visited the Port of Hamburg for the first time.

To celebrate the first call of the Silver Dawn, the traditional plaque presentation took place on board the ship. The ship received the Port of Hamburg plaque, while the Port of Hamburg received the Silver Dawn 's ship plaque. This ceremony underlines Hamburg's growing importance as a destination port for international cruise ships, which is also reflected in the number of first calls by ships from all over the world.

After several summer voyages through Northern Europe, the Silver Dawn is now continuing her voyage to Southern Europe. In the coming days, she will be calling at various destinations along the coasts of Western Europe.
