At the heart of this expansion are the new classes of ships. The TUI Aria will debut as early as spring 2026. It accommodates 190 passengers and features an innovative, convertible indoor pool. It will be followed in the summer of 2027 by the TUI Luzia, a ship custom-built for the Portuguese Douro, and the TUI Elara. The latter sets new standards in true premium comfort on the Rhine and in the Benelux countries with spacious French Balcony Junior Suites. Whether looking to starboard or port, the new cabins and decks offer thoughtfully designed, multifunctional areas (so-called "dual-use spaces") throughout.
The travel concept is increasingly targeted at the active 40 to 55-year-old demographic. With the "adults-only" policy and the so-called "unbundling" – the deliberate departure from rigid, pre-packaged excursion bundles – passengers enjoy maximum flexibility. In addition to new summer routes on the Moselle and Main, the cruise line is also massively expanding its winter program. Highly profitable Nile cruises with the TUI Al Horeya and the TUI Bahareya, as well as new winter itineraries on the Danube, the Rhine, and in Serbia, ensure the lucrative, year-round operation of the fleet.
In parallel with the capacity expansion, the ecological transformation is being consistently driven forward. The fleet is being systematically equipped to use shore power in European river ports to drastically reduce local emissions. At the same time, river cruising benefits from the direct technology transfer of ocean liners, such as the testing of Bio-LNG. Modern software solutions like "Signol" additionally optimize the crew's behavioral energy management. With this combination of technical innovation, capacity expansion, and new routes, TUI secures a clear, long-term leadership position on the rivers.
