The decision became necessary as the local meteorological conditions prevent safe maneuvering and mooring at the so-called Seawalk. This is a mobile, floating pier used in Nordfjordeid because the port does not have a traditional cruise terminal. The safety of guests and crew is the cruise line's top priority.
Passengers were informed about the upcoming itinerary change on Monday evening. With the visit to Alesund moved forward, guests now have the opportunity to explore the famous Art Nouveau town. Many attractions, including the picturesque city center and the viewpoint on Mount Aksla, are within easy walking distance from the berth.
Weather permitting, AIDAnova plans to call at the port of Nordfjordeid tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6, 2025. However, this attempt remains dependent on further weather developments.
Such itinerary adjustments are relatively rare for cruises in Norway during the high summer season. They occur more frequently in the spring and autumn when weather conditions in Northern Europe are more volatile. During the current summer season, AIDAnova is operating various one- and two-week routes to the Norwegian fjords and throughout Scandinavia.
