Bremerhaven is preparing for a maritime spectacle. From August 13 to 17, 2025, SAiL 2025, one of Europe's most significant tall ship festivals, will take place. The event, which attracts over 250 historic and modern vessels to the Weser estuary every five years, will be crowned this year by special highlights from the world of cruising. Alongside numerous three- and four-masted ships, visitors can expect a top-tier supporting program with musical performances by artists such as Ronan Keating, Johannes Oerding, and the No Angels.

A Unique Fleet Reunion for Phoenix Reisen

A remarkable event for all ship enthusiasts will be the gathering of the entire ocean-going fleet of the Bonn-based tour operator Phoenix Reisen. For the first time since 2019, the MS Amadea, MS Amera, MS Artania, and MS Deutschland will dock together at the Columbus Quay. This rare sight will be available on Friday, August 15, 2025, between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Phoenix Reisen, a long-standing and loyal partner of the port, is using SAiL 2025 to emphasize its connection to the location where its ships regularly dock for passenger turnarounds in the summer.

AIDA Cruises Stages AIDAsol with a Light and Drone Show

As the event's Gold Sponsor, AIDA Cruises is making its own statement. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the AIDAsol will make the only call by one of the line's iconic ships in Bremerhaven this year. The visit is part of two specially designed voyages: a six-day Scotland cruise ending in Bremerhaven, and a subsequent six-day Norway cruise starting from there. The day's highlight will occur around 10:50 PM: against the backdrop of the Atlantic Hotel, the AIDAsol will be spectacularly showcased on the Weser River with an impressive show featuring 300 drones and light effects.

Further Cruise Guests for the Finale

The maritime festival will be accompanied by other cruise ships. To conclude the event on Sunday, August 17, MS Artania from Phoenix Reisen and Mein Schiff 2 from TUI Cruises are expected in the port. While MS Artania concludes her multi-day stay, Mein Schiff 2 will conduct a regular passenger changeover at the Columbus Cruise Center.
