The canceled voyage is a four-day repositioning cruise originally scheduled to depart from San Diego on April 19, 2026. The itinerary consisted of four sea days on the Pacific Ocean without any port calls, concluding in Vancouver, Canada. The reason for the cancellation is the postponement of the ship's dry dock, which will now take place at a later date.
Compensation for Affected Passengers
Guests booked on the canceled cruise will receive a full refund of the cruise fare paid. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line is providing a 20 percent discount on a future cruise booking. This discount is flexibly applicable to all stateroom categories, including the exclusive Concierge level, and can be used for a new booking or applied to an existing reservation.
New Itineraries on the West Coast
The postponement of the dry dock has created capacity for additional voyages. Therefore, the Disney Magic will now offer three new cruises from San Diego in April 2026 before heading north:
- April 19, 2026: A new cruise to Baja California, Mexico, with port calls at Catalina Island and Ensenada.
- April 23, 2026: Another short cruise from San Diego, featuring a visit to Ensenada and a relaxing day at sea.
- April 27, 2026: The new repositioning cruise from San Diego to Vancouver will now depart on this date.
The ship's dry dock, expected to last approximately two weeks, is now scheduled to take place in the Pacific Northwest, just before the Disney Magic begins its summer season of cruises in Alaska.
The cruise line emphasizes that all other scheduled 2026 sailings for the ship, including those from Galveston, San Diego, and Vancouver, are not affected by this change. The Disney Magic will operate the Alaska season alongside the Disney Wonder after completing its winter 2025-26 season in the Caribbean.
