Am 31. März 2025 geht im Rotterdamer Hafen die erste niederländische Landstromanlage für Kreuzfahrtschiffe in Betrieb. Als erstes Schiff wird die AIDAnova während der Liegezeit mit umweltfreundlichem Strom vom Land versorgt. Damit erweitert AIDA Cruises sein Netzwerk auf 13 europäische Häfen in sieben Ländern, die Landstrom anbieten. Allein in Rotterdam sind für dieses Jahr 31 weitere Anläufe von AIDA-Schiffen geplant, die künftig emissionsfrei am Kai liegen können.

The AIDAnova will be the first vessel to use clean onshore electricity while docked, allowing AIDA Cruises to expand its network to 13 European ports across seven countries offering shore power. In Rotterdam alone, 31 additional AIDA ship calls are planned for this year, all of which will now be able to operate emission-free at berth.
