Meyer Turku Avatar: Das Konzept für klimaneutrale Kreuzfahrten ab 2030

Die finnische Werft Meyer Turku hat Mitte Februar 2026 mit dem "Avatar"-Konzept einen echten Meilenstein für die Schifffahrt präsentiert. Dabei handelt es sich nicht um eine ferne Zukunftsvision, sondern um einen technisch validierten Fahrplan für ein klimaneutrales Kreuzfahrtschiff, das bereits im Jahr 2030 gebaut werden kann. Das erklärte Ziel ist ambitioniert: Über den gesamten Lebenszyklus des Schiffes soll der CO2-Fußabdruck im Vergleich zu heutigen Standards um mehr als 90 Prozent gesenkt werden. Möglich macht dies das NEcOLEAP-Forschungsprogramm, in das rund 160 Millionen Euro fließen.
