Am Freitag, den 29. August 2025, ereignete sich an Bord des Kreuzfahrtschiffes Iona von P&O Cruises ein kleinerer Brand in einer Kombüse auf Deck 5. Dank des raschen und professionellen Eingreifens der Besatzung konnte das Feuer schnell unter Kontrolle gebracht und gelöscht werden. Es gab keine Verletzten, und eine Evakuierung der Passagiere war zu keinem Zeitpunkt notwendig. Der reguläre Schiffsbetrieb wurde nur minimal beeinträchtigt und das Bordleben normalisierte sich zügig wieder.
