The arrival in Hamburg concludes AIDAluna's transatlantic crossing, which originated in the Caribbean. The ship spent the past 2024/25 winter season deployed in that region. During that period, its schedule featured two-week cruises taking passengers to various Caribbean islands and destinations in Central America. Embarkation ports for these voyages included La Romana (Dominican Republic), Montego Bay (Jamaica), or Fort-de-France (Martinique).
For the newly started summer season, Hamburg will serve as AIDAluna's primary homeport. The itinerary focuses mainly on longer voyages throughout Northern Europe, encompassing destinations such as the British Isles, Iceland, Greenland, Spitsbergen, and Norway. The schedule is supplemented by a few shorter trips on the North Sea. From early September to early October, the ship will temporarily relocate its base to Kiel to offer short cruises on the Baltic Sea.
Following the conclusion of the Northern Europe season, AIDAluna is scheduled for a significant modernization. The vessel will be taken out of service for seven weeks, from October 23 to December 9, 2025. During this period, it will undergo an extensive refurbishment at the Chantiers Naval de Marseille shipyard as part of the fleet-wide "AIDA Evolution" program. Towards the end of 2025, covering the Christmas and New Year holidays, the upgraded AIDAluna – becoming the second Sphinx-class ship to receive this modernization – will operate cruises in the Western Mediterranean.
AIDAluna's current short cruise itinerary from May 1 to May 5, 2025, is as follows: Hamburg – Sea Day – Invergordon – Leith (for Edinburgh) – Sea Day – Hamburg.
