MSC Divina had already concluded its regular passenger operations on April 4, 2025, following the completion of its winter season. This season featured short Caribbean voyages departing from and returning to Miami. After the final cruise, the ship commenced its transatlantic crossing without passengers. En route to Malta, MSC Divina made only one operational stop in Tenerife on April 13, 2025. Four days later, it arrived in Malta for the necessary maintenance work.
Over the next three weeks, extensive maintenance and renovation tasks will be carried out in the dry dock. Currently, there is no information regarding major refurbishments, suggesting that standard upkeep procedures will be undertaken. These typically include renewing floor coverings, refurbishing or replacing furniture, and other tasks that cannot be performed during regular guest operations.
The time in dry dock is also commonly used to clean the underwater hull of marine growth and apply a new protective coating. Technical components such as bow thrusters, stabilizers, and propellers become freely accessible during this period, allowing for thorough maintenance. MSC Divina must leave Palumbo Shipyard by May 8, 2025, at the latest, to resume cruise operations punctually in Civitavecchia on May 9, 2025.
For the 2025 summer season, MSC Divina is scheduled for cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean. The itineraries will feature destinations in Greece, Italy, and Turkey. Embarkation ports will include Civitavecchia near Rome, Naples, or Kusadasi.
