MSC Meraviglia is currently homeported at the Brooklyn Cruise Center in New York City. From this base, the ship regularly operates voyages to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. The now-canceled trip included a one-week itinerary with stops in Port Canaveral (Florida), Nassau (Bahamas), and Ocean Cay, MSC Cruises' private island. Affected guests of this sailing are being offered various compensation options by MSC Cruises, including rebooking possibilities, a full refund of the cruise fare, and/or a future cruise credit (FCC) for a subsequent MSC voyage.
During the period from May 11th to May 18th, 2025, MSC Meraviglia will be taken out of service to address the technical problems. MSC Cruises emphasizes that the existing issues do not compromise the safety of guests or crew members. The aim of the repairs is to restore the ship's full performance and speed, ensuring the scheduled execution of all subsequent itineraries.
According to current information, MSC Meraviglia is expected to return to regular service on May 18th, 2025. MSC Cruises intends to resolve the technical issues completely within the one-week repair window, thereby avoiding further cancellations.
