Bernd Eikens, CEO of the MEYER WERFT Group, emphasized the significance of this moment for the long-standing business relationship: "Following the delivery of Carnival Jubilee, the construction of this new ship represents another significant step in our partnership with Carnival Cruise Line. We are very pleased to now begin the construction of the fourth ship in this series and can already announce that guests can once again look forward to some special highlights."
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, affirmed the fleet's innovative strength: "Carnival Festivale will continue the tradition of equipping our ships with pioneering innovations. This ranges from themed music areas to a completely new water park concept being developed specifically for this vessel." Duffy added: "The three sister ships already in service are exceptionally successful. We are delighted to collaborate with MEYER WERFT once again to build upon the revolutionary Excel platform and enable unique vacation experiences for our guests."
Technologically, Carnival Festivale will also rely on more environmentally friendly propulsion using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The ship will have a length of 344 meters and, with a gross tonnage of 180,000 GT, will offer capacity for over 6,400 guests. Port Canaveral, Florida, is designated as the future home port, from where Carnival Festivale will operate alongside its sister ship, Mardi Gras.
