The official naming ceremony for the new vessel is scheduled for next Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the port of Malaga. This event represents the central highlight of the current cruise, which runs from April 3 to April 13, 2025. Alongside Mein Schiff 5, Mein Schiff 7 is also expected in Malaga for the christening ceremony. The program for the event on April 9 includes a live concert featuring TUI Cruises brand ambassador Robbie Williams, as well as the actual naming act performed by Spa & Sport Manager Giuliana Rizzo.
Following its arrival in Palma de Mallorca, further voyages are scheduled for Mein Schiff 5. Plans include a ten-day Easter cruise calling at destinations in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Gibraltar, as well as two special event cruises. A previous "Schlagerliner" cruise will be followed by the inaugural "Mein Schiff Millennium Cruise". An auction for remaining cabins on the latter is currently underway, ending on April 7, 2025.
The now-concluded Canary Islands season for Mein Schiff 5 began in mid-November 2024. Since then, the ship primarily operated on week-long routes starting and ending in Tenerife, which also included the Portuguese island of Madeira. After a few sailings with Palma de Mallorca as the start and end port, the vessel will commence service in the Eastern Mediterranean from May 2025. For the summer season, lasting until early November 2025, Heraklion in Crete will serve as the homeport for various week-long cruises aboard Mein Schiff 5.
Current Itinerary of Mein Schiff 5 (April 3 – April 13, 2025):
The route leads from Santa Cruz (Tenerife) via a sea day to Funchal (Madeira), where the ship will stay for two days. After another sea day, stops include Lisbon, a sea day, Malaga (including participation in the christening), Tangier, a sea day, and Valencia, before the voyage concludes in Palma de Mallorca.
