TUI Cruises Adjusts 2026 Itineraries: Africa Replaces Red Sea Routes
The Hamburg-based cruise line TUI Cruises has announced changes to its planned 2026 repositioning voyages. Due to ongoing security concerns in the Red Sea, the Mein Schiff 4, Mein Schiff 5, and Mein Schiff 6 will no longer sail through the Suez Canal as originally scheduled. Instead, the company will offer alternative routes around the southern tip of Africa. Similar adjustments were made in previous years to ensure passenger confidence.

Affected Sailings and Alternatives

The following cruises have been canceled:

  • Mein Schiff 4 (March 22 – March 30, 2026):
    • 7-night "Magic of the Orient" (roundtrip from Dubai)
    • 14-15 night Suez Canal transits (to Heraklion/Antalya)
    • Regular operations from Palma de Mallorca resume May 1, 2026
  • Mein Schiff 5 (March 10 – March 12, 2026):
    • 17-night Suez Canal transit (from Doha to Heraklion)
    • 15-night Suez Canal transit (from Dubai to Heraklion)
    • Regular operations from Heraklion resume April 24, 2026
  • Mein Schiff 6 (April 15 – May 27, 2026):
    • 58-night "Grand Explorer Route" (from Tokyo to Antalya)
    • 44-night voyage (from Hong Kong to Antalya)
    • 14-16 night Asia and Suez Canal transits
    • Regular operations from Palma de Mallorca resume June 23, 2026

Compensation and Rebooking Options

Affected passengers will receive automatic cancellations in the coming days. As compensation, TUI Cruises is offering:

  • A 10% cruise credit toward a future booking.
  • An exclusive promo code for an additional 10% discount on new Africa itineraries.

The alternative repositioning voyages around Africa are expected to open for bookings soon. Mein Schiff 4 and 5 will then transition from the Middle East to the Mediterranean, while Mein Schiff 6 will relocate from Asia to European waters.

This decision reflects TUI Cruises' commitment to passenger safety while providing attractive alternatives for 2026 travel.
