MSC Preziosa Begins Dry Dock Maintenance in Rotterdam – Preparations for Upcoming Cruise Season

As of Tuesday morning, the MSC Preziosa has been docked, where it will undergo extensive maintenance and refurbishment over the next two weeks. While no major structural changes are planned, standard renovation work will be carried out, including replacing flooring, refurbishing furniture, and completing other tasks that cannot be performed during active service.

During the dry dock stay, the ship’s underwater hull will also be thoroughly serviced. Marine growth will be removed, and the hull will receive a fresh coat of paint. Additionally, key components such as bow thrusters, stabilizers, and propellers will be inspected and maintained while easily accessible. The dock is expected to be reflooded within two and a half weeks, ensuring the MSC Preziosa returns to Hamburg on schedule by April 13, 2025—just in time to resume cruise operations.

The ship will set sail again one week before Easter, first completing two metropolitan itineraries before transitioning to its summer 2025 schedule of 10- to 14-day Northern Europe cruises departing from Hamburg.
