AIDAdiva Sets Sail After Major Refit – A New Chapter for Cruise Enthusiasts

The AIDAdiva left the dry dock at Chantiers Naval de Marseille last night. At around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, the ship set course for Civitavecchia, Italy, where it will resume regular cruise operations after a seven-week refit. Excitement is building on board as the AIDAdiva prepares for its first spring voyage under the theme "Falling in Love with AIDAdiva All Over Again" on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

The journey will take passengers to Italy and Malta, marking the beginning of a new era for the ship. Since early February, the AIDAdiva has undergone extensive modernization as part of the AIDA Evolution program. Guests can look forward to a refreshed design and a host of new features. A team from Schiffe und Kreuzfahrten will be on board to document the upgrades with exclusive images.

AIDA Evolution: A Milestone for the Fleet

The AIDA Evolution program is the most extensive modernization initiative in the history of AIDA Cruises. Never before has the Rostock-based company upgraded a ship on such a scale. The AIDAdiva is just the beginning: the AIDAluna will follow in autumn 2025, and the AIDAbella will undergo a seven-week refit in Marseille in spring 2026. In the coming years, the remaining ships of the Sphinx class—AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar, and AIDAstella—are also scheduled for modernization.

New Routes and Destinations for AIDAdiva

After returning to service, the AIDAdiva will initially sail on a route to Italy and Malta. In the summer, a Western Europe voyage will take it to its home port of Rostock-Warnemünde. From there, week-long cruises to the Baltic Sea and the Norwegian fjords are planned until autumn. A special highlight awaits guests in the 2025/26 winter season: the AIDAdiva will embark on its first world cruise, following a new route through North America, Asia, and Africa.
