As announced by AIDA Cruises today, AIDAnova will depart at 5 PM instead of the previously planned 6 PM. For guests with tightly scheduled travel plans, this means they will need to arrive at the terminal earlier. However, those who have booked their check-in window for the morning or early afternoon will be less impacted by this change—provided that external factors such as traffic or delays do not affect their planned buffer times.
During the ongoing 2024/2025 winter season, AIDAnova is operating from Hamburg, alternating between the Southern Norway route and the Metropolitan route. Currently, the ship is on its Norway itinerary, meaning the upcoming departure on Saturday will be part of the Metropolitan route. This route includes stops in Southampton, Cherbourg, Zeebrugge, and Rotterdam after departing from Hamburg. The earlier departure time will not affect the ship’s subsequent itinerary or scheduled arrival times at these ports.
For ship spotters and cruise enthusiasts, the earlier departure offers a chance to see and photograph AIDAnova in daylight. Those wishing to witness the event live should secure their spots along the Elbe River in advance to watch the ship sail out of Hamburg’s harbor.
This change highlights the importance of flexible travel planning, especially for cruises, where departure times can be adjusted at short notice due to various factors.
