Mein Schiff 4 Sets Sail After Comprehensive Modernization in Dubai for New Mediterranean Voyage

On Monday, February 24, 2025, Mein Schiff 4 embarked on its first voyage following an extensive drydock stay in Dubai. From February 10 to February 24, 2025, the cruise ship underwent significant overhauls and modernization at Dubai Drydocks World. During this period, a film crew documented the process, capturing the efforts of the crew, shipyard workers, and Captain Jan Fortun.

The drydock stay can be compared to a major vehicle inspection, albeit on a much larger scale. These regular inspections are mandated by the classification society responsible for ship safety and certification. In the drydock, the vessel is thoroughly examined, and its certification is renewed accordingly.

In addition to the technical inspections, numerous upgrades were made to the guest areas. Passengers can now enjoy approximately 9,000 square meters of new carpeting. The Anckelmannsplatz has been completely modernized, the exterior decks freshly renovated, and the pool area and sauna now shine with a renewed brilliance.

Today’s voyage will take Mein Schiff 4’s guests on a transcontinental journey to the eastern Mediterranean, with the ship expected to arrive in the region by early April.
