AIDAdiva Adjusts Route: Valencia Dropped, Barcelona Becomes the Highlight

On this Friday, January 17, 2025, the AIDAdiva was unable to dock as planned in the port of Valencia due to strong winds. As an alternative, the cruise ship is heading straight to Barcelona, offering an unexpected highlight for travelers: an overnight stay. The ship will remain in the Catalan metropolis from 11:00 a.m. on Friday until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Passengers on the AIDAdiva had already been informed of the necessary route adjustment by the captain over the past few days. All shore excursions planned for Valencia have unfortunately been canceled. Payments already made for these tours will be refunded. Meanwhile, a new excursion program for Barcelona is expected to be available. Guests planning individual outings will also need to adjust their arrangements in light of the extended stay in Barcelona and the cancellation of Valencia.

Barcelona marks the final port on this nine-day Mediterranean cruise, which previously included stops in Cadiz, Lisbon, and Cartagena. The journey will conclude as scheduled on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in the port of Palma de Mallorca.

This "Spain with Lisbon" itinerary is one of the last opportunities to experience the AIDAdiva before its upcoming shipyard stay. Following two additional one-week Mediterranean cruises, the vessel will enter dry dock in Marseille for seven weeks. Extensive renovations and upgrades are planned to bring the AIDAdiva up to date.
