Disney Cruise Line has released a new video showcasing the construction progress of their upcoming cruise ship, Disney Destiny. The video reveals how the ship’s hull is almost completely assembled as work on individual sections advances. A striking feature is that the ship already has its two iconic funnels in place—one serving as a design element and the other as a functional necessity.

  3. Disney Destiny Ship Facts:

Construction officially began with the keel laying on March 20, 2024, in the large building dock of Meyer Werft in Papenburg. Initially, work focused on the forward sections of the vessel, which is scheduled for completion in 2025. After the Disney Treasure, a sister ship, was floated out in summer 2024, the midship and aft sections of the Disney Destiny were completed. Currently, no other cruise ships are under construction in this dock.

Disney Cruise Line: A Key Partner for Meyer Werft

Disney Cruise Line has become a crucial client for Meyer Werft. Since 2022, the company has taken delivery of two new ships: Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. In 2025, the shipyard will deliver the Disney Destiny, alongside the Disney Adventure, which is being completed in Wismar. By 2031, Meyer Werft is set to produce five more new ships for Disney Cruise Line.

About Disney Destiny: The Third Triton-Class Ship

The Disney Destiny is the third ship in the Triton-Class series, following Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. The ship’s theme, “Heroes and Villains,” promises guests new and exciting onboard experiences. The maiden voyage is scheduled for November 14, 2024, departing from Fort Lauderdale, USA. During its inaugural season in winter 2025/26, Disney Destiny will offer four- and five-day Caribbean cruises.

Disney Destiny Ship Facts:
