Construction officially began with the keel laying on March 20, 2024, in the large building dock of Meyer Werft in Papenburg. Initially, work focused on the forward sections of the vessel, which is scheduled for completion in 2025. After the Disney Treasure, a sister ship, was floated out in summer 2024, the midship and aft sections of the Disney Destiny were completed. Currently, no other cruise ships are under construction in this dock.
