Until its arrival in Auckland, New Zealand, on December 19, 2024, AIDAsol will spend five uninterrupted days at sea. One of the highlights of this leg of the journey was the crossing of the International Date Line, which runs along the 180th meridian from pole to pole. This momentous event was carefully incorporated into the cruise itinerary. To mark the occasion, AIDA released a special onboard program for December 14, 2024, titled “The Day That Doesn’t Exist. On the Way to the Moon.”
This creative program included a variety of special activities for passengers. Highlights included discounted reservations for deck chairs and a whimsical workshop on “the perfect hairstyle for a cruise to the moon.” The latter was a nod to a playful marketing campaign by AIDA on November 11, 2024, at the start of Carnival season, where they humorously announced plans for a fictional moon cruise. The special edition of AIDA Today also provided interesting facts about the International Date Line and unique aspects of the Pacific region.
After five days at sea, AIDAsol will arrive in Auckland on December 19, 2024, where passengers can participate in a range of exciting shore excursions. This leg of the world cruise will conclude on December 29, 2024, in Sydney, Australia. However, there are many memorable moments ahead before the year’s end: Christmas Eve will be celebrated in Lyttelton, near Christchurch, New Zealand. The two Christmas holidays will be spent at sea, with a spectacular passage through Fiordland National Park scheduled for December 26, 2024.
With its combination of stunning natural wonders, festive onboard celebrations, and creative daily programs, this leg of AIDAsol’s world cruise promises to leave an unforgettable impression on all who sail.
