AIDAnova Returns from Dry Dock: Winter Magic & "Best Pizza at Sea"

After a successful dry dock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam, AIDAnova is now en route back to Hamburg. Early this morning, on December 1, 2024, around 4:30 AM, the ship began its departure maneuver from the dry dock, where it had undergone scheduled maintenance and refurbishment over the past two and a half weeks.

Once it left the dock, AIDAnova headed directly into the North Sea. By late evening, the ship is expected to reach the Elbe 1 pilot station near Cuxhaven. On Monday morning, it will dock as planned at the Cruise Center Steinwerder in the Port of Hamburg, ready to welcome its first guests after the maintenance break.

Meanwhile, the crew is busy making final preparations. They are clearing the last traces of the dry dock period and swapping their work overalls for their usual uniforms. After two and a half weeks of downtime, the ship is ready to resume its regular guest operations.

In addition, AIDAnova has been fully prepared for its Winter Magic experience in Northern Europe. Guests can now enjoy a range of winter-themed highlights alongside the ship’s usual amenities. Sparkling holiday decorations, cozy Christmas market stalls on deck serving treats like candied apples and mulled wine, and a festive atmosphere await. The popular ski gondolas on the outdoor deck have also made a return.
