AIDAnova: “Best Pizza at Sea” Joins the Fuego Restaurant – A Shipyard Update

Since November 14, 2024, AIDAnova has been in dry dock in Rotterdam for routine maintenance and refurbishment. Before entering the shipyard, the vessel concluded its four-day mini-cruise to Oslo, disembarking its final passengers in Hamburg on November 13.

The last shipyard stay for AIDAnova occurred in 2021 at Damen Shiprepair in Brest, France. Now, three years later, the ship is back in dock for necessary works that cannot be carried out during normal operations. Among these are classification tasks required to maintain the ship’s operational certification.

While no major structural changes are planned, minor updates are being implemented during the stay. Additionally, the much-loved Winter Wonderland is being prepared for the upcoming winter season. The most significant enhancement, however, is the addition of “Best Pizza at Sea,” which will be featured in the family-friendly Fuego Restaurant.

AIDAnova is set to resume service on December 2, 2024. During a five-day mini-cruise, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the renovated ship, including the new pizzeria and the Winter Wonderland, for the first time. Following this short voyage, the vessel will return to its regular schedule, operating three routes until mid-April 2025: “Metropolises from Hamburg,” “Southern Norway from Hamburg,” and “Norway and Denmark from Hamburg.” These itineraries can also be combined for an extended cruise experience.
