To compensate, a new stop has been added on November 27, 2024, at Le Port on La Reunion island. Here, the delayed provisions will be loaded onto the ship, ensuring that all areas, including restaurants and bars, remain fully stocked for the journey ahead.
After completing the restocking process in La Reunion, AIDAprima will continue its itinerary. The ship is set to reach Dubai on December 5, 2024, following several days at sea across the Indian Ocean. From December 2024 to early March 2025, AIDAprima will embark on its winter season, offering week-long cruises in the Orient region.
To enhance the guest experience during the unplanned stop in La Reunion, AIDA Cruises is organizing a range of shore excursions at short notice. However, due to the cancellation of the overnight stay in Mauritius, some planned excursions there may need to be canceled.
This leg of the journey, which started in Cape Town, South Africa, includes two maiden calls for AIDAprima: Port Louis in Mauritius and Le Port in La Reunion. Following the final stop in the Indian Ocean, the ship faces a long voyage to Dubai.
This route marks a first for AIDAprima, as it is sailing along the southern route around Africa with passengers for the first time. The direct route from Europe to the Orient via the Red Sea is currently avoided for safety reasons.
