On its current Norway cruise, the AIDAmar had to change its planned route again, which means that a total of three of the originally planned ports have now been canceled. The calls in Leknes in the Lofoten Islands and Sortland in the Vesterålen archipelago could already not be carried out on the way to Alta in the far north of Norway. After scheduled stops in Alta and Tromsø, the port of Bodø, which was planned for Wednesday, will now also not be visited.

To partially compensate for the canceled ports, the AIDAmar stayed in Alta longer than originally planned. This gave passengers the opportunity to experience the impressive Northern Lights and take excursions to the North Cape. On Monday, November 11, 2024, the ship then made a stop in Tromsø. Due to the current changes, the AIDAmar will leave Tromsø late Monday evening, although the departure was originally planned for Bodø on Tuesday afternoon.

After two days at sea along the Norwegian coast, the AIDAmar will instead call at the port of Bergen on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Bergen was not part of the original route “Autumnal Northern Lights from Warnemünde”, but will now serve as a replacement for the canceled stops in northern Norway. On Friday, November 15, 2024, the ship will dock in Stavanger as planned before heading to Hamburg for another day at sea, where the cruise ends on Sunday.

Route changes due to storms in Northern Europe are not uncommon in the fall, and these adjustments are also beyond the control of the shipping companies. AIDA Cruises has therefore organized a new excursion programme for passengers in the replacement port of Bergen. The costs for already booked and canceled shore excursions will be fully refunded to the guests.

Original itinerary of the AIDAmar from November 3 to 17, 2024:

Warnemünde - sea day - Haugesund - sea day - Leknes (Lofoten) - Sortland (Vesterålen) - Alta - Alta - Tromsø - Tromsø - Bodø - sea day - Stavanger - sea day - Hamburg

Adjusted itinerary of the AIDAmar from November 3 to 17, 2024:

Warnemünde - sea day - Haugesund - sea day - sea day - Alta - Alta - Alta - Tromsø - sea day - sea day - Bergen - Stavanger - sea day - Hamburg

Despite the changes, AIDAmar guests can look forward to a varied program, including the opportunity to enjoy the typical Norwegian flair in Bergen.
