VASCO DA GAMA Mediterranean cruise: Route change due to weather conditions - Mykonos and Bodrum swapped

While the cruise ship VASCO DA GAMA is currently still completing this year's Spartacus Gay Cruise, which concludes tomorrow in the port of Heraklion on Crete, travelers on the upcoming Mediterranean cruise have been informed by nicko cruises of an important route change.

The planned cruise, which will sail through the Eastern Mediterranean from October 16 to 23, 2024, will undergo a change in the order of ports of call: Mykonos and Bodrum will be swapped due to weather forecasts. The forecast for October 17 indicates strong winds off Mykonos. As the VASCO DA GAMA has been assigned an anchorage rather than a pier there, safe tender operations between the ship and the port would not be possible due to the expected rough conditions. Instead, the ship will call at the port of Bodrum in Turkey on that day, where the weather is more suitable for a trouble-free stay. Mykonos will then be visited on October 20, 2024, which means that the excursion program will be adjusted accordingly.

nicko cruises is thus reacting proactively to possible weather-related disruptions and minimizing the risk of a port cancellation, which would otherwise have to be determined spontaneously on site if tender boats could not be safely deployed.

The cruise through the Eastern Mediterranean is also the VASCO DA GAMA's last voyage before the ship sets off on its 146-day world cruise in the 2024/2025 winter season.
