The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ program will also be an integral part of the entertainment offering on board the new flagship MSC World America, departing from Miami in April 2025.
More opportunities to break a world record
Since the launch of the program on MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa in March last year, guests have been able to attempt to break official Guinness World Records in exciting onboard activities. The program is currently available on twelve ships, but next year all ships in the fleet will be equipped with the record-breaking entertainment.
Statements from MSC Cruises executives
Steve Leatham, Vice President Entertainment at MSC Cruises, emphasizes: “The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ activities are extremely popular with our guests, regardless of age. So far, 30 records have been set on board our ships. Whether it's pulling a 100-meter rope, doing 20 spins on a chair in less than 21 seconds or putting on the most socks on one foot in the shortest time, the tasks are varied and entertaining. We look forward to further developing this partnership and bringing the experience to all ships to expand our extensive entertainment offering.”
Matteo Mancini, Senior Manager Family Entertainment at MSC Cruises, added: “The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ program appeals to all ages and offers entertainment for the whole family. It's great to see so many different guests coming together and competing in the games. Everyone on board has the chance to be a star because GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ is not just a brand, but a live experience that has become part of our cruises.”
The journey to the world record
During the cruise, guests can take part in various daytime activities to qualify for the final show in the evening. There, the best participants compete against each other to set a real Guinness World Record. An official referee from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ will check each new record and issue a certificate - a unique memento for the participants who will see their achievements immortalized in this special way.
Ships with GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Entertainment
The program is currently offered on the following ships: MSC World Europa, MSC Euribia, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Virtuosa, MSC Seashore, MSC Seascape, MSC Divina, MSC Magnifica, MSC Bellissima, MSC Seaside and MSC Splendida.
