From November 1, 2024, the automatic gratuity will increase to USD 18.50 per person per day in regular cabins and junior suites. For suites, the amount will be increased from USD 20.50 to USD 21.00 per day and guest. These gratuities will be distributed to the restaurant, bar and kitchen staff as well as the cabin crew and other service staff.
On a seven-day cruise, the total amount for gratuities in regular cabins and junior suites will increase to USD 129.50 per person, compared to the previous USD 126. For guests in suites, the amount will increase from USD 143.50 to USD 147. This represents a moderate increase of 2.7% in regular cabins and 2.4% in suites.
The other tipping regulations on board remain unchanged: An 18% gratuity will continue to be automatically added to drink orders at the bar, room service and minibar, while 20% will be added to the bill for spa and salon treatments. These surcharges will appear on the receipt at the end of the purchase.
Guests who have already booked a cruise with Royal Caribbean International have the option to pre-pay gratuities at the current, lower rates. If they choose not to do so, the new, higher gratuity rates will apply from November 1, 2024 when they are billed on board.
