The MS Amadea from Phoenix Reisen departs today on a 50-day voyage to the Caribbean. The cruise ship will depart from the Cruise Center Altona in Hamburg at the start of the tour. Prior to this, the MS Amadea was the venue for the 6th Genuss-Festival, at which numerous experts from the world of indulgence were on board. On the previous 13-day Western Europe cruise, however, many ports had to be canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions.

During this last voyage, the MS Amadea was affected by a storm in the Atlantic. This meant that only three planned ports could be called at: Portsmouth, Bordeaux and Portland. The entry into the port of Cork in Ireland had to be canceled due to the bad weather. It was also not possible to visit Gijón and Bilbao in Spain, Lorient in France or the tender port of St. Peter Port on Guernsey.

The MS Amadea's originally planned itinerary from September 25 to October 8, 2024 included a route via Bremerhaven, Portsmouth, Cork, Gijón, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Lorient, St. Peter Port and Hamburg. Instead, the MS Amadea followed a greatly reduced route due to the weather conditions: After Bremerhaven, it returned to Hamburg via Portsmouth, Bordeaux and Portland.

The upcoming cruise to the Caribbean now promises calmer conditions. Over the next 50 days, the MS Amadea will call at various sunny destinations in the Caribbean. Captain Robert Fronenbroek
