First trial voyage of Mein Schiff Relax on the Adriatic is imminent: All details about the new TUI Cruises ship

Mein Schiff Relax is about to embark on its first independent trial voyage in the Adriatic Sea. In the coming days, the ship is expected to sail out to the open sea under its own power for the first time. The position of Mein Schiff Relax has recently been visible on various ship tracking platforms, indicating that the sea trials are imminent.

Mein Schiff has not yet published any official information about the sea trials. At the moment, the eighth newbuilding in the fleet is still moored at a pier at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, on the Italian Adriatic coast. The final work on board the ship is being carried out here to prepare it for delivery to TUI Cruises in spring 2025. By then, both the interior and exterior areas must be fully completed and approved by the shipping company.

The sea trials are of crucial importance for the technical testing of the ship. The first voyage under its own power represents an important milestone in the construction process. A special feature of Mein Schiff Relax is the environmentally friendly LNG (liquefied natural gas) propulsion system, which significantly reduces emissions compared to conventional fuels.

With the planned entry into service in spring 2025, Mein Schiff Relax will also introduce numerous innovations on board, which have already been announced by TUI Cruises. The ship will receive celebrity support for the launch from British pop star Robbie Williams, who will act as brand ambassador.
