The massive ship, with a gross tonnage of 250,800 GT, was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. To offer plenty of space for up to 7,600 guests on board, the ship is divided into eight different areas, known as neighborhoods. From the tranquil "Central Park" with real plants to "Thrill Island" featuring the largest water park at sea – there is something for every taste. Families benefit from the dedicated "Surfside" area, while adults can relax undisturbed in the luxurious "The Hideaway."
The cruise ship also sets new standards in culinary and entertainment offerings. A major highlight is the "eatertainment" concept "Royal Railway," where guests dine in a virtual train car. The large stages feature elaborate shows, including the musical "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Furthermore, a very special crew member provides unique moments of comfort at sea: a Golden Retriever named "Skipper" is on board as the "Chief Dog Officer," serving as an emotional anchor and bringing smiles to the guests' faces.
In terms of environmental technology, the Legend of the Seas utilizes modern liquefied natural gas (LNG) and advanced shore power connections to significantly reduce emissions in ports. After its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, the ship will head across the Atlantic at the end of October 2026. Starting in November, it will sail from Florida to sunny destinations in the Caribbean, including the popular private island "Perfect Day at CocoCay."
