Marella Discovery 2 Becomes an Adults-Only Ship in 2027

Marella Cruises is permanently transforming the Marella Discovery 2 into an adults-only ship for guests aged 17 and over, starting in the 2027/2028 winter season. The concept will already launch in the Mediterranean from Dubrovnik in summer 2027. This strategic shift responds to the rapidly growing demand for child-free holidays. The corresponding winter program will be available for booking from July 2, 2026.

Before the permanent launch, the ship will undergo extensive renovations in dry dock. Former family areas will make way for new adult concepts: a speakeasy bar, an interactive escape room, private karaoke rooms, and a creative arts and crafts studio will be created. At the same time, the premium "Suite Service Max" concept will be introduced fleet-wide. This offers guests in top suites exclusive benefits such as free Wi-Fi, priority check-in, and premium champagne in their cabin.

During the winter, the ship will set sail from the Canary Islands and Málaga to sunny destinations, including Morocco on the new "Atlantic Fusion" route. Thanks to the close integration with the TUI Group, these cruises can be seamlessly extended with hotel stays on land. With this adjustment, Marella Cruises strengthens its position in the European market, offering passengers an ideal blend of peaceful relaxation and affordable luxury.
