The event featured a decentralized onboard festival concept, with culinary highlights from celebrity chef Tim Raue and live performances by artists like Rea Garvey and Tim Bendzko. Moving away from traditional celebrity godmothers, TUI Cruises selected three loyal customers—Julia, Annabelle, and Karin—through a community vote to share the honor. Dressed in custom gowns by fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer, the three women represented different generations of the cruise line's loyal community, strengthening the brand's connection with its guests.
Technically, the new vessel, delivered by Italy's Fincantieri shipyard on June 12, focuses heavily on spaciousness and environmental sustainability. The layout avoids a crowded feel through extensive glass facades and bright atriums, and introduces dedicated solo cabins with private balconies. Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and designed to accommodate future e-fuels, the ship features shore power connections and advanced catalytic converters to significantly minimize its environmental impact.
In response to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the cruise line demonstrated strong operational flexibility. As planned deployments in the Orient and around Africa had to be canceled, the winter 2026/27 schedule was swiftly rerouted to Northern Europe. Following its Mediterranean season, Mein Schiff Flow will transition to Hamburg and Kiel in October to operate around 40 newly designed itineraries to the Baltic Sea, Norway, and a unique 36-day long-term Caribbean cruise starting and ending in Germany without requiring flights.
