This relaunch is a direct response to the forced cancellations of May 2026. At the time, the escalating conflict in Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz, preventing the ships from returning to Europe through the Red Sea in time for the summer season. Instead, Mein Schiff 4 and Mein Schiff 5 had to take a long and fuel-intensive detour around the South African Cape of Good Hope. The cancelled events will now be made up for in April 2027, fulfilling the cruise line's promise to its loyal fan base.
The lineup kicks off with the Millennium Cruise from April 11 to April 15, 2027, roundtrip from Palma de Mallorca. This four-night voyage is dedicated entirely to the pop culture and Eurodance of the 1990s and 2000s. TV host Daisy Dee will return to guide guests through the nostalgic onboard program. Musically, acts like Lou Bega, 2 Unlimited, Haddaway, and Culture Beat, alongside well-known DJs, will bring a festival atmosphere to both port and starboard. The route includes stops in Ajaccio (Corsica) and Barcelona before returning to Mallorca.
Immediately following, the six-night Tattoo Cruise will run from April 15 to April 21, 2027. On this sailing, Mein Schiff 4 transforms into a floating tattoo convention featuring internationally renowned artists such as Randy Engelhard and Benjamin Laukis, with appointments available for booking. The entertainment program features a heavier sound, with live rock, metal, and punk acts including Royal Republic and Knorkator. The itinerary spans from Palma to Civitavecchia (Rome), Marseille, and Barcelona.
From an economic perspective, TUI Cruises strategically uses these event cruises to optimize occupancy during the traditionally slower shoulder season in April. The consecutive "back-to-back" scheduling at the same homeport eliminates expensive repositioning or infrastructure teardowns, while allowing dedicated fans to combine both sailings. Prices for the Millennium Cruise start at €799 per person for an inside cabin, while early-bird discounts are available for the Tattoo Cruise until September 30, 2026 (starting at €919). All rates feature the cruise line's signature premium all-inclusive package.
