Viking's concept remains strictly focused on cultural and destination-oriented voyages tailored for guests aged 55 and over, deliberately omitting onboard entertainment like casinos or formal nights. To enhance the shoreside experience, exclusive multi-day overland excursions are available, including safaris in Kruger National Park or tours to the Taj Mahal. Early bookings benefit from extensive incentives, such as business-class flights and shipboard credit, aimed at driving high occupancy during the current booking wave.
From a maritime perspective, the operator focuses on fleet expansion and modern technology. Accommodating 998 passengers, Viking Vesta features compact dimensions that allow access to centrally located city ports. In response to tightening environmental regulations in global shipping, the vessel – like its sister ship Viking Mira – is engineered for a seamless future retrofit to a hydrogen-based fuel cell hybrid propulsion system. By 2031, the company plans to expand its ocean and expedition fleet to a total of 26 units.
