From May 8 to 10, 2026, Hamburg will celebrate its 837th Port Anniversary. The world's largest port festival will once again attract around one million visitors to the Elbe River. In addition to classic maritime traditions, a spectacular world record attempt takes center stage this year: a 2,500-square-meter floating stage will be installed directly in front of the Landungsbrücken for the "Elbe in Concert" event series, aiming to go down in history as the largest of its kind.

A nautical and visual highlight is the integration of the AIDAperla on Saturday evening. The cruise ship will not merely serve as a backdrop; through elaborate light and laser technology, it will actively merge with the stage program and the grand fireworks display at 10:45 PM to create a total work of art. The fleet will be flanked by the AIDAluna and AIDAsol. Things will be more traditional during the grand arrival parade on Friday, led by the historic tall ship "Statsraad Lehmkuhl." During the popular Open Ship format, visitors can also explore high-tech research vessels and historic floating cranes up close.

The musical supporting program on the massive Elbe stage offers something for every taste. On Friday, local and national artists such as Lotto King Karl, Das Bo, and Nina Chuba will set the mood. On Saturday, things will get much more international with this year's partner country, the Liverpool City Region. Alongside modern British pop and indie acts, tribute bands will bring the music of the Beatles back to the site of their early successes in St. Pauli.

The major event is of enormous importance for the maritime economy and tourism in the Hanseatic city. Sponsors like AIDA Cruises use this reach to present digital innovations and draw attention to sustainable topics such as the increased use of shore power. To guide the massive flow of visitors safely and pleasantly, the festival mile is being spatially expanded and cleverly complemented by specialized sub-events like electronic dance floors or rock stages.
