Royal Caribbean Unveils New Cruise Ship "Hero of the Seas"
Construction is taking place at the Finnish Meyer Turku shipyard. The ship will be equipped with modern technology to reduce emissions. This includes a propulsion system powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). This is complemented by fuel cells and shore power connections for emission-free operation in port. In this way, the cruise line combines gigantic dimensions with important steps towards more environmentally friendly shipping.
On board, up to 7,600 passengers can expect a well-thought-out concept with eight different areas, known as neighborhoods. With nine pools, including the new "Coconut Cove" concept and the expanded "The Hideaway" area exclusively for adults, the ship offers plenty of space for relaxation. The "Category 6" waterpark will provide adrenaline rushes, featuring a spectacular funnel rafting slide for the first time on this ship.
There are also innovations when it comes to cabins. One highlight is the "Ultimate Family Treehouse," a massive suite spanning three decks for up to twelve people. Culinary-wise, guests can choose from 28 different options. New concepts such as the virtual train restaurant "Royal Railway – Hero Station" or the "Orleans Parish Supper Club" combine dining and entertainment at the highest level.
Starting in 2027, the "Hero of the Seas" will offer seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. A fixed part of every journey is a stop at the private island "Perfect Day at CocoCay". Official ticket sales for the first voyages will begin on April 2, 2026. Regular guests will be able to book one day earlier.
