Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is getting serious and transforming the high seas into a massive floating fan zone. Just in time for the FIFA World Cup 2026, the cruise line announced it will broadcast all 104 matches of the tournament live across its entire fleet. Thanks to a cooperation with IMG and the Sport 24 channel, vacationers no longer have to choose between their dream trip and the championship fight. No matter which of the 19 ships you are on, the ball will be rolling across the screens—both on two dedicated channels in the staterooms and on large screens in public areas.

The cruise line's flexible concept plays particularly well into the hands of fans. Since there are no fixed dining times, the daily schedule can be relaxed and shaped around the match schedule. Those who wish to watch the matches in a social setting will find a true stadium atmosphere with burgers and beer in bars like "The Local" or "O'Sheehan's." On the Norwegian Encore, the newly renovated adult-only area "Spice H2O" at the aft of the ship also entices guests with public viewing under the open sky.

A technical highlight also solves the dilemma regarding shore excursions: If an exciting game is on during a shore leave, NCL offers a 24-hour catch-up function. Guests can simply watch the matches on a time delay as soon as they are back on board. This leaves enough time for sightseeing in the ports without missing the highlights from the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

The itinerary planning also adapts to the event. The Norwegian Jewel operates strategically from Philadelphia, one of the host cities, while the newest fleet addition, the Norwegian Luna, sets sail from Miami. With state-of-the-art satellite technology and stable streams, NCL clearly positions itself as the first choice for sports-loving cruisers who want to stay on the ball even on the ocean.
