AIDAperla: The Grand Return to the Orient and the Africa Route in Winter 2027/28

AIDAperla
AIDA Cruises is sending a strong strategic signal by firmly returning to the Orient with AIDAperla in the winter of 2027/2028. The unique aspect of this season's planning is the journey to the destination: due to the current security situation in the Red Sea, the cruise line is bypassing the Suez Canal. Instead, a spectacular 43-day "Globetrotter" voyage will take the ship from Hamburg around the African continent starting November 4, 2027. Traveling via the Canary Islands, Namibia, South Africa, and Mauritius, the ship will finally reach Dubai – a true adventure that combines safety with new destinations.

Once in the destination region, the ship will operate between December and April on two alternating seven-day routes, which can be ideally combined into a grand 14-day voyage. While the "Orient with Oman" route focuses on cultural highlights such as Muscat and modern Doha, the "Orient Highlights with Islands" tour offers pure relaxation on Sir Bani Yas and insights into the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dubai and Abu Dhabi serve as the primary turnaround ports, allowing for flexible flight arrangements.

The choice of AIDAperla is ideal for this endeavor, as the Hyperion-class ship is largely weather-independent thanks to its foil-covered "Beach Club." This guarantees a summer feeling on port and starboard, even if it is still cool when departing Hamburg. With its diverse offerings, AIDAperla is perfectly suited for families during holiday periods as well as for couples and "best agers" looking to escape the European winter.

Those wishing to be part of this special season can already secure cabins now, as AIDA is entering the market with attractive early-booking conditions. The decision for the long circumnavigation of Africa clearly shows that the cruise line reacts flexibly to geopolitical realities to provide its guests with safe and predictable holiday joy in the warm Arabian Gulf.
