Nevertheless, much evidence suggests that a major F&B (Food & Beverage) revision is not only strategically necessary but also imminent. It represents a logical step within the context of the "AIDA Evolution" fleet strategy and the new tariff structure (COMFORT ALL IN).
The planned revision is much more than a mere cosmetic update. It serves multiple strategic objectives:
- Product Homogenization: With the ongoing modernization of the Selection ships (such as the AIDAluna after its shipyard stay in December 2025), the goal is to ensure that guests on every ship – from the smallest to the largest kiss-mouth ship – encounter a consistent and contemporary beverage offering.
- Strengthening All-Inclusive Value: By including attractive, new (or old) classics in the COMFORT ALL IN package, the perceived value of this higher-priced fare increases. The bar menu thus becomes a direct selling point for the full package.
- Margin and Up-Selling: The return of the classics is a calculated instrument. Simple classics based on AIDA house brands are expected to be included in the package. More complex drinks like the elaborate Mai Tai or versions with premium spirits (e.g., high-quality whisky or rum) might only be available for a surcharge. This creates up-selling potential for additional revenue.
