The AIDAcosma, an LNG-powered vessel in the AIDA fleet, is adjusting its route for a cruise in December 2026. This change is due to a necessary, scheduled shipyard stay for inspection and maintenance.

The journey, originally planned for December 5, 2026, will now begin two days earlier on December 3, 2026. The new itinerary includes ports such as Cartagena, La Palma, and Gran Canaria. A scheduled shipyard stay is a normal procedure for a modern ship commissioned in 2022. Such visits typically occur every two to three years to check the on-board technology, clean the ship's hull, and thoroughly test all systems. This is crucial not only for long-term reliability but, most importantly, for safety.

The more than one-year advance notice for this announcement is a testament to AIDA Cruises' forward-thinking fleet management. By providing early information, passengers have ample time to adjust their travel plans. This contrasts with the often reactive route changes made by other cruise lines in response to unforeseen, external risks like geopolitical developments. This planned and transparent approach builds brand trust and demonstrates that AIDA Cruises manages its internal operations professionally and proactively.
