AIDAsol Thrilled at SAiL Bremerhaven with a Drone Show
AIDA Cruises was on board as the main sponsor and pursued a two-pronged strategy to put the brand in the spotlight. On one hand, there was a spectacular show on the water, and on the other, an interactive presence on land.
The centerpiece of the staging was the AIDAsol. On Saturday, August 16, after dusk, the cruise ship became a floating stage. With 300 drones, lasers, and a light show, accompanied by music and live moderation, the night sky over the Weser River became a beacon for the AIDA brand. Instead of relying on traditional fireworks, AIDA used state-of-the-art drone technology to showcase the fascination of cruising in an innovative way. The subsequent high-altitude fireworks display rounded off the spectacle.
But the fascination did not end on the water. The so-called "AIDA Holiday World" was located at the New Harbor. On an area of 250 m², visitors could immerse themselves in the brand's world. A true-to-life show cabin invited visitors to try it out, while travel consultants answered all questions about the perfect sea voyage. Interactive activities such as a wheel of fortune or the "kissing stop" created a casual setting for getting to know the brand in a playful way.
The AIDAsol itself was part of this sophisticated logistics. On August 16, it arrived in Bremerhaven after completing a cruise through Scotland. After the passenger change, it served as the backdrop for the show before setting sail for a new journey on the same evening.
The commitment at SAiL 2025 is not an isolated case. AIDA Cruises has long been a partner of major maritime events such as Hamburg's Port Anniversary and Kiel Week. Through this presence, the company positioned itself not only as a provider of sea voyages but also as an integral part of maritime life in Northern Germany.
The combination of spectacular shows and direct customer contact on land clearly showed how AIDA Cruises understands modern event marketing: the spark of wonder was transferred to the audience and then led them into an experience world where they could get direct information about the products.
