AIDA Evolution: AIDAluna & AIDAbella Return Modernized

In the coming months, AIDAluna and AIDAbella will return from the shipyard in Marseille after extensive renovations. As part of the AIDA Evolution initiative, the cruise ships are being completely modernized. Guests can look forward to a fresh design, expanded cabins and suites, and a new color scheme.

The culinary offerings and on-board entertainment will also be enhanced, with new bars and restaurants such as the Lanai Bar, French Kiss, and the Yachtclub. The relaunch of both ships will be celebrated with special premiere voyages featuring famous artists and comedians.

AIDAluna: The Premiere Voyage Begins with Max Mutzke

From October 22 to December 10, 2025, AIDAluna will undergo her renovation. After nearly seven weeks in the shipyard, she will embark on her five-day inaugural journey on December 10, 2025, under the theme "Fall in Love with AIDAluna Again." The route will lead from Palma de Mallorca to Marseille, Palamós, and Barcelona before returning to Palma.

A highlight of the trip is the performance by the Night Live Band featuring the well-known singer Max Mutzke. His blend of soul, pop, and jazz is sure to delight guests. The comedian Mirja Boes and her band Die Honkey Donkeys will also be on board to provide plenty of laughs. Another festive event is a symbolic re-christening ceremony in the Theatrium, personally accompanied by godmother Franziska Knuppe.

AIDAbella: Glasperlenspiel and Matze Knop on Board

AIDAbella is also undergoing a major overhaul at the shipyard in Marseille. Her modernization will take place from January 21 to March 11, 2026. On March 11, 2026, the first voyage will set sail from Palma de Mallorca. The itinerary includes stops in Civitavecchia (Rome) and La Spezia before heading to Marseille. After an overnight stay, the route continues to Barcelona and returns to Palma on March 18.

On board, guests can expect a diverse entertainment program. The band Glasperlenspiel will provide musical entertainment, while comedian Matze Knop will ensure a great atmosphere with his program. A special highlight is the return of godmother Eva Padberg, who will not only be on board but will also perform as a DJ duo with her husband under the name Dapayk & Padberg.

AIDA Evolution: AIDA Cruises' Vision for the Future

Under the name AIDA Evolution, AIDA Cruises brings together its initiatives for fleet renewal. The goal is to offer guests a new level of comfort and diverse experiences. AIDAdiva led the way, and now AIDAluna and AIDAbella are following. Over the next three years, all ships in the Selection class will be extensively modernized.

Guests can look forward to many new features: The Theatrium will be modernized to enable even more impressive shows. The new Ocean Club will replace the Anytime Bar, creating a new club atmosphere. For families, Deck 14 will feature a new Fun Park with a climbing tower, slide, and cave landscapes, as well as expanded play areas in the Kids Club. The spa area will also be renewed and expanded with two luxurious wellness suites, a nail spa, and a modernized hair spa.
